The UC San Diego Mathways website contains comprehensive information, recommendations, and ways to receive support for students who need math.  Some examples are shown below:

Calculators are not allowed on PUP-Exams.  Students should not use a calculator when taking previously released PUP-Exam Practice Tests:

• Practice Test 1
• Practice Test 2
• Practice Test 3
• Practice Test 4

Calculators are not allowed in entry-level MATH courses (through third-quarter calculus) at UC San Diego; therefore practicing arithmetic skills will help prepare students for classwork and exams. Strengthening your arithmetic skills opens more ways to connect with ideas, tackle advanced math topics, and apply mathematics to your studies and everyday life. 

Engagement in free math courses from Khan Academy offer one opportunity to sharpen your math strategies and problem-solving skills: Algebra 1, High School Geometry, Algebra 2, College Algebra, Precalculus, and Trigonometry.
